The Texas LEGO® User Group - San Antonio (TexLUG-SA) held its sixth virtual Community Meeting of 2024 on 30 June 2024. 16 Group Members participated virtually via Skype from their homes. Attendance was great even as some regulars had other commitments and did not attend the Meeting. Topics discussed were setting up of the new Krystle’s Brick Shop Old West Nostalgia themed display on 8 June; the tear down of the Pirates Invasion display at Bricks and Minifigs - Bulverde on 15 June with replacement coming from the Store Employees for their Castle display from Brick Rodeo 2024. I relayed the inclusion of the LEGO® Insider Program at several LEGOLAND Discovery Centers, however, not in Texas yet. After recent posts associated with the new rookie player from the San Antonio Spurs interest in purchasing the LEGO® Millennium Falcon set with some of his first paycheck from the NBA, I took the initiative to contact the San Antonio Spurs player via letter, no reply yet. Last, but not least there is a request for our Group to build a LEGO® Diorama of Subhani Family Clubhouse for a Grand Opening Event in Harker Heights, Texas later this year. Our favorite part of the virtual Community Meeting is the sharing of the latest creations and builds as we go “Around the LUG”. Since Brick Rodeo 2024 is coming this week after the Meeting, several Members said they were looking forward to attending either for the first time or multiple visits to the event as it moves in the State.

This monthly virtual Community Meeting achieved one of our goals to keep in touch and discuss and plan future activities while staying connected through use of technology. During the “Around the LUG” portion, Members showed off their latest creations and several Members were excited about attending Brick Rodeo 2024 for the first time. A Member was very excited to learn everything that he asked for those that have attended in the past stay behind on the call and share their recommendations.
