The Texas LEGO® User Group - San Antonio (TexLUG-SA) held its first virtual Community Meeting of 2023 on 29 January 2023. 13 Group Members participated virtually via Skype from their homes. The Group discussed a variety of topics, however, the main topic of discussion was the Community Warning received via email on 19 January 2023 from Jordan Paxton, initial reaction after brief discussion; how did our Ambassador, who monthly shares information posted on the LAN with all in attendance, get this type of email warning plus can a RLUG Ambassador be held to a standard that he or she was not aware was a hard requirement and an acknowledgement from the Ambassador had been documented that “posting” is a hard requirement. An action was taken to send Community Warning email to the most active Group Members and have them provide comments by 3 February 2023. Briefly discussed the SAMSAT Initiative that includes a LEGO® City and plan for a follow-up meeting later in February with sponsors, discussed the replacement of the current MOC displayed at Krystle’s Brick Shop with several themed displays over the next year at a meeting earlier on 10 January 2023, discussed other LAN topics that might be of interest to the Group, discussed upcoming events planned for March 2023 with the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas and SWISD Medio Creek Elementary. Everyone enjoyed hearing about and seeing Members latest creations and catching up as 2023 begins and we look to the new year.

Our Virtual Community Meeting continues to fill the void of seeing each other personally and keeping the Group connected. Virtually allows Members to save gas, a very real thing now and save time by having a Community Meeting online and still accomplish subjects of interest to the Group. One good thing is that Members enjoy the chance to propose, plan and participate in TexLUG-SA Social gathering, to show off builds physically, do Parts Draft of small to medium sets and conduct builds with prizes. Additionally, each month, the Ambassador relays pertinent information from the LAN and gives Members an opportunity to discuss and comment if they so desire. Members are encouraging each other to attend and actively participate at the virtual community meetings since we continue to put physical community meetings on hold, participation continues to be strong at virtual community meetings. Members continue to show the rest of the Group their LEGO® builds while working from home or checking into their workplace physically from time to time via these online Skype Virtual Community Meetings.
