Summary

The Texas LEGO® User Group - San Antonio (TexLUG-SA) held its second virtual Community Meeting of 2022 on 27 March 2022. 12 Group Members participated virtually via Skype from their homes. Attendance virtually continues to be great! The Group discussed a variety of topics to include, latest subjects of interest from the LAN, one of our Members is planning a MOC Display at the local reseller of LEGO® - Krystle’s Brick Shop, briefly mentioned LUGLedger and its potential use to manage TexLUG-SA activities and events, arrival of 1HY2022 Support from the LEGO® Group and briefly discussed the New Braunfels Railroad Museum hosted Train Show Jamboree that is scheduled for 9 - 10 April 2022. The Group was reminded to reply to the planned email to participate over the upcoming weekend. We discussed in person meetings again, but the consensus was to continue with virtual meetings for now. We had two guest visitors to our meeting, Mariann Asanuma, Freelance LEGO Artist Author, President of Model Building Secrets, Clearfield, Utah. She has always belonged as a Member of the Texas Group LUG that was Statewide before other cities became recognized as smaller LUGs around Texas. She has attended Brick Fiesta, the State’s brick convention since 2011. The other visitor and now new Member was Daniel Eaton, Jr. We went around the Skype Session virtually and Members shared their latest LEGO® creations or builds over the past month, and other general subjects associated with the love of the LEGO® brick within the Group. Everyone enjoyed hearing about and seeing Members latest creations and catching up as 2022 continues.

What We Enjoyed Most

Our Virtual Community Meeting is filling the void of seeing each other personally and keeping the Group motivated during these continued trying times with the continuing Omicron Variants of the COVID-19 virus that are affecting the local area, as well as, other major places in the World. Masks, social distancing and the limit of the number of folks (28) in the local LEGO® Store are still in effect. Members are encouraging each other to attend and actively participate at the virtual community meeting since we continue to put physical community meetings on hold, participation continues to be strong at virtual community meetings. Members continue to show the rest of the Group their LEGO® builds while working from home or slowly returning to their workplaces physically via these online Skype Virtual Community Meetings.
