Summary

The Texas LEGO® User Group - San Antonio (TexLUG-SA) held its fifth virtual Community Meeting of 2021 on 27 June 2021. 13 Group Members participated virtually via Skype from their homes. Attendance at virtual meetings has been outstanding compared to in person at our local Mall Food Court, so for now we are continuing to meet virtually. 2 Members accepted the “Micro Scale MOC” Build Challenge. Congratulations to Mary D and Jenna E for their builds! A few Members are considering participating or going to Brick Rodeo 2021 from 22-25 July 2021 in Sugar Land, Texas. A few folks decided to purchase as a group the Periodic Table of LEGO® Colors V2.0 from the We Love What You Build (WLWYB) Company. A few Members talked about watching LEGO® Masters and their reactions to Season 2. We talked about meeting in person again vice virtually, however, the resurgence of a new variant of the COVID-19 virus (Delta) is keeping folks at home. Everyone loved hearing about and seeing Members’ latest creations.

What We Enjoyed Most

Our virtual Community Meeting is filling the void of seeing each other personally and keeping the Group motivated during these continued trying times with the surge of the new delta variant of the COVID-19 virus. The State of Texas has relaxed most mandates associated with masks and social distancing, especially for those that are fully vaccinated, except encouraging individual choice when it comes to wearing a mask indoors. Members are encouraging each other to attend and actively participate at the virtual meeting since we continue to put physical meetings on hold, and participation continues to be strong at virtual meetings. Members continue to show the rest of the Group their builds while still working from home via these online Skype Virtual Meetings.
