The Texas LEGO® User Group - San Antonio (TexLUG-SA) held its third virtual Community Meeting of 2021 on 28 March 2021. 19 Group Members participated virtually via Skype from their homes. Cases of the COVID-19 virus are lower than they have been since June 2020, but still active in Bexar County, the main home of TexLUG-SA, plus more people are attending virtual meetings than the ones that are scheduled in person at the Mall, so for now we are going to continue to meet virtually. Our first physical event for 2021 is scheduled for April 24-25, 2021. Discussion on this event centered on the risk and safety associated with the virus in the State of Texas. We will not have a Play Brick area as we have had in the past years, this is just not manageable and recommended for health reasons. 3 Members accepted the “Luck of the Irish” Build Challenge of using ONLY green brick elements to build a creation, well done. Congratulations to Mark W with his build! We went around the Skype Session virtually and Members shared their latest creations or builds during the past month and other general subjects associated with the love of the LEGO® brick within the Group. Everyone enjoyed hearing and seeing Members’ latest creations. Continuing good news, Texas continues to receive vaccine doses to provide shots to all adults who desire the COVID-19 Vaccine since 29 March 2021, nearly 25% of Bexar County, Texas has been vaccinated.

Our virtual Community Meeting is filling the void of seeing each other personally and attempting to keep the Group motivated during these trying times with COVID-19 cases on a decline, but not enough folks are vaccinated to attain herd immunity in the entire State of Texas (23%). Members are encouraging each other to attend and actively participate at the virtual meeting since we have physical meetings on hold. Members continue to show the rest of the Group their builds while isolated or working at home via online Skype calls.
