The Texas LEGO® User Group - San Antonio (TexLUG-SA) held its second virtual Community Meeting of 2021 on 28 February 2021. 15 Group Members participated virtually via Skype from their homes. We talked about how the virus is still very active in Texas and is still not under control enough to start having physical meetings, so we are going to continue to meet virtually. We have an awesome Store Manager, who really supports AFOLs in our Community! Informed Members of follow-on procedures to troubleshoot Digital VIP Cards provided on the LAN. Our first event for 2021 is scheduled for April 24-25, 2021. Discussion on this event centered on the risk and safety associated with the virus in the State of Texas. We will not have a Play Brick area as we have had in the past years, this is just not manageable and recommended for health reasons. Those Members that accepted the Alternate Set Build Challenge of using the bricks and elements in 60288 Race Buggy Transporter (210) and building their own creations, well done. Congratulations to Hoa L with her build and using all pieces except the female hair of a minifigure! We went around the Skype Session virtually and Members shared their latest creations or builds during the past month and other general subjects associated with the love of the LEGO® brick within the Group. Everyone enjoyed hearing and seeing Members’ latest creations. Our Group looks forward to sharing our love of the LEGO® brick element with the public, hopefully this year we can get back together in person without the fear of contracting the virus, thus far it is not looking promising for the first half of the year, revisit after June 2021. Good news, Texas is opening vaccine shots to all adults starting 29 March 2021.

Our virtual Community Meeting is filling the void of seeing each other personally and attempting to keep the Group motivated during these trying times with COVID-19 cases still looming in the entire State of Texas. Members are encouraged and still participate even though we are meeting virtually with no events throughout last year, except early in January and February 2020, however, talking about this year and our first physical event has been scheduled, a Train Show in April 2021 and Members continuing to show the rest of the Group their builds while isolated or working at home via online Skype calls.
