The Texas LEGO® User Group - San Antonio (TexLUG-SA) held its first virtual Community Meeting of 2021 on 31 January 2021. 18 Group Members participated virtually via Skype from their homes with a guest tuning in from Houston to clarify any questions about Brick Rodeo. We talked about how the virus is still very active in Texas and is still not under control enough to start having physical meetings, so we are going to continue to meet virtually. As stated earlier, a few Members last session had questions about Brick Rodeo, so Sarah Silverman, Co-Chairperson, tuned in and answered a few other questions and then departed within 10 minutes. Our potential first event for 2021 is scheduled for April 24-25, 2021. Discussion on this event centered on the risk and safety associated with the virus still running out of control in most of the State of Texas. We went around the Skype Session virtually and Members shared their latest creations and other general subjects associated with the love of the LEGO® brick within the Group. Everyone enjoyed hearing and seeing Members’ latest creations. Our Group looks forward to sharing our love of the LEGO® brick element with the public, hopefully this year we can get back together in person without the fear of contracting the virus, thus far it is not looking promising with a new variant looming from the UK and South America.

Our virtual Community Meeting is filling the void of seeing each other personally and attempting to keep the Group motivated during these trying times with COVID-19 cases on a resurgence with a vengeance throughout the entire State of Texas. Members are encouraged and still participate even though we are meeting virtually with no events throughout last year, except early in January and February 2020, however, talking about this year and maybe (???) a Train Show in April 2021 and continuing to show the rest of the Group their builds while isolated or working at home via online Skype calls.
