Summary

The Texas LEGO® User Group - San Antonio (TexLUG-SA) held its second virtual Community Meeting on 24 May 2020. Several Members participated from their homes. We covered past events that were postponed or cancelled due to the worldwide pandemic - Corona virus. We talked about some internal Group business related to shirts, a trailer and membership. It is official that Brick Fiesta 2020 has been postponed to 2021 with the new dates of 22 - 25 July 2021. The organizers are attempting a Virtual Brick Fiesta 2020 on 25-26 July 2020 for those AFOLs that preregistered for Brick Fiesta 2020 and charging $5.00 for those that would like to join in on the virtual fun in July. I passed along that a scientist from Zurich, Switzerland has used his love of the LEGO® brick plus other components to create a microscope needed for his work. The IEEE Spectrum May Issue published his article. I shared a few highlights from my participation from the LAN Check In Session with Tormod Askildsen, Head of AFOLET. We got an update on the policy at our LEGO® Brand Retail Store since it reopened from a Member that went to the store. A few Members shared their recent builds or used their time to tell of other adventures during their quarantine. Other events are still undecided due to the pandemic. With the recent rapid rise in COVID-19 Cases in the San Antonio area, we are still going to be meeting through virtual meetings once a month vice our regularly scheduled twice a month in person meetings. Our Group looks forward to continuing to plan events for later this year and getting back together in person.
