Summary

Four TexLUG-SA Members participated in the Schertz Public Library hosted Summer Reading Kick-Off: Unearth a Story on Saturday, 30 May 2026 from 1000-1400. 3 Members created a Jurassic display of LEGO® Jurassic Themed sets with LEGO® foliage in the form of Palm Trees, various colored Limb Tree Branches to develop a very old looking place you might find dinosaurs roaming the Earth. The small kids loved the display and could hardly keep their hands to themselves. One young man’s face was sheer excitement and suddenly dropped to the floor, pretending to be blown away and fainting on the floor. His Mom assured us he was okay and really didn’t hurt himself. He may have a future in motion pictures. Our display inspired the next generation! The visitors asked lots of LEGO® based questions plus made comments on some of our more unique LEGO® creations throughout the display. The Library had loose LEGO® bricks on several tables, and the parents and kids made their unique creations and placed them on a table near our display. A few photos of those creations are among our photos of the display table. The display was 6 baseplates by 6 baseplates on two large tables and one small table with a few more LEGO® inspired paleontology themed sets.
