Big Texas Comicon 2023

Event Summary

Location

Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, 900 E Market St, San Antonio, TX 78205

Summary

A week before the event, three Members gathered to create the Big Texas Comicon Logo out of 2x4 LEGO® bricks, mostly provided from the 90th Anniversary of the LEGO® Group support shipment. It turned out that the Big Texas Comicon Logo contained colors provided in that support shipment. During the three day event thousands of folks stopped through the display to take photos of themselves with the brick made logo. The Group Members designed the two booth tables to have visitors snake through the LEGO® themed Pop Culture MOCs or sets. The Members enjoyed sharing their unique LEGO® Star Wars™ MOCs, several LEGO® Harry Potter™ sets were in the layout, plus a city scape was designed around the LEGO® brick built Alamo MOC, a favorite of San Antonio attendees. The LEGO® Ghostbusters™ Fire House was on the edge of the display and convention participants dressed like the Ghostbusters stopped by to see the house. A large Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader ventricular print made of LEGO® bricks was a hit as well. Overall, the Members participating enjoyed interacting with the public and answering questions about the LEGO® built creations.
